Roots of Carnaval is een multidisciplinaire historische show waar theater, cultuur en erfgoed samenkomen. In de vorm van een fascinerende voorstelling worden de Afrikaanse dans en muziek vanuit de slavenplantages belicht die ten grondslag liggen van het populaire Caribische & Zuid-Amerikaanse carnaval. In een meeslepende show wordt het prachtige erfgoed van authentieke Afrikaanse muziek en dans en de koloniale transformaties hiervan naar de Cariben aan het publiek getoond. Het uiteindelijke doel: bewustwording en educatie waar het populaire carnaval, zoals dat van Brazilië, Aruba etc. vandaan komt en welke betekenis deze heeft.

Roots of Carnival is a multidisciplinary historical show where theater, culture and heritage come together. A fascinating performance highlights the African dance and music from the slave plantations that underlie the popular Caribbean & South American carnival. In an immersive show, the beautiful heritage of authentic African music and dance and its colonial transformations to the Caribbean are shown to the audience. The ultimate goal: to raise awareness and education about where popular carnival, such as that of Brazil, Aruba, etc. comes from and its significance.
