Wat als je op 19 jarige leeftijd de wereld over gaat met je allereerste hit? Als de wereld aan je voeten ligt, maar je voeten eigenlijk nog niet weten welke stappen ze moeten zetten. Grootste kinderdromen in een grote mensen wereld. In deze muziekvoorstelling neemt DO je mee op reis over gouden bergen en door diepe dalen, van stretch limousines en champagne tot aan de bijna fatale botsing in een gare, tweedehands fiat 500 zonder remmen. Het onzekere leven van een artiest gaat niet over rozen al staat je huis ermee vol! Ze was de allereerste Maria in The Passion, ontroerde menigeen met haar vertolking van ‘Zeg me dat het niet zo is’ (Frank Boeien), was meerdere keren te gast bij bij de Beste Zangers van Nederland. Van het eerste liedje dat ze ooit zong tot aan de dromen die nog voor haar liggen. In deze voorstelling onder begeleiding van haar vaste muzikanten zingt DO 25 songs, met ieder z’n eigen anekdote die staan voor bijna 25 jaar in het vak.

Met inspiratiebronnen als Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston maar ook Tom Waits, John Mayer, Lizz Wright, Ibrahim Malouf, Barbra Streisand, Emily King, Lianne LaHavas, Billy Holiday, Sarah Vaughan worden haar muzikale keuzes in de breedste zin van het woord beïnvloed.

Kom luisteren en genieten van de bekende hits zoals : Heaven, Hij gelooft in mij, Voorbij (resp. Duet met Marco Borsato), nooit eerder live gespeelde stukken van haar debuut- en tweede album. Kortom een echte ’trip down memory lane’.

What if, at the age of 19, you go global with your very first hit? When the world is at your feet, but your feet don’t really know what steps to take yet. Biggest childhood dreams in a big people’s world. In this musical performance, DO takes you on a journey over golden mountains and through deep valleys, from stretch limousines and champagne to the near-fatal collision in a beat-up, used fiat 500 with no brakes. The uncertain life of an artist is not about roses even though your house is full of them! She was the very first Mary in The Passion, moved many with her rendition of “Zeg me dat het niet zo is” (Frank Boeien), was several times a guest on the Best Singers of the Netherlands. From the first song she ever sang to the dreams still ahead of her. In this performance accompanied by her regular musicians, DO sings 25 songs, each with its own anecdote that represent nearly 25 years in the business.

With inspirations like Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston but also Tom Waits, John Mayer, Lizz Wright, Ibrahim Malouf, Barbra Streisand, Emily King, Lianne LaHavas, Billy Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, her musical choices are influenced in the broadest sense of the word.
