“Roots of Carnival is een adembenemende voorstelling waar je mee op reis wordt genomen naar spannende, exotische landen met de grootste carnavalstradities, allemaal ontstaan vanuit tradities vanuit de rijke Afrikaanse cultuur.

Tijdens de opzwepende voorstelling staat het hart en de oorsprong van Caribisch & Zuid-Amerikaans carnaval centraal. De show is dan ook doordrenkt met temperamentvolle Afrikaanse dans, energie van Braziliaanse drums tot aan vrolijke Soca ritmes. Via dans en muziek worden verhalen uitgebeeld van opstand, verzet en empowerment. De voorstelling belicht het verhaal van een onderdrukt volk wiens identiteit en religie afgenomen werd, maar de oppressie overwon via expressieve en culturele muzikale tradities.

De Roots of Carnival dinnershow is een kunstzinnige reactie op onderwerpen als dekolonisatie en culturele debatten. Roots of Carnival is dus niet slechts een voorstelling; Het is een show vol vreugde, kracht en moed welke tot uiting komen via ritmische dansen als een volwaardige, authentieke belevenis.

“Roots of Carnival” is a breathtaking performance where you will be taken on a journey to exciting, exotic countries with the greatest carnival traditions, all born of traditions from the rich African culture.

The heart and origins of Caribbean & South American Carnival take center stage during the exhilarating performance. As such, the show is infused with spirited African dance, energy from Brazilian drums to upbeat Soca rhythms. Through dance and music, stories of rebellion, resistance and empowerment are depicted. The performance highlights the story of an oppressed people whose identity and religion were taken away, but overcame oppression through expressive and cultural musical traditions.

The Roots of Carnival dinner show is an artistic response to topics such as decolonization and cultural debates. So Roots of Carnival is not just a performance; It is a show full of joy, strength and courage which are expressed through rhythmic dancing as a full, authentic experience.
