Rebuilding

On October 1st, 2007 we became the proud owner of the theater. Previously the auction house was Sothebys and before that an old tobacco auction building. But what we found upon entering 2007 did exceed our wildest expectations …

Every paint pot that had been brought into the building in recent years was unfortunately not spent on the building. The subsidy probably gave no room to paint the window frames and polish the floors in addition to the sets.

The result was therefore a very poorly maintained building that had undergone an enormous attack in the past 15 years. A very nice challenge awaited us. Do we dare and go for it? That was the big entrepreneurial question. We said yes because we had confidence and we also gave the residents of the city of Amsterdam an accessible theater. We took this challenge with both hands and feet. Without subsidy and with a beautiful result, which we are incredibly proud of! And we are still renovating and maintaining the building.
